Alternate Pump-Action Shotgun Sounds
Like Fallout 4, there are a lot of sounds in this game that I don’t like, but the sounds I dislike the most are by far the default pump-action shotgun sounds. The shell insert sounds are okay, but the firing and pump sounds are just laughably bad. It sounds less powerful than the Varmint Rifle in RDR2. Once I learned how easy it is to override assets in 76, I quickly took to GB to find appropriate replacements for said sounds, and these were my preferences.
Installation
If you’ve installed any other mods for 76, you should already know how this goes. If you haven’t:
Extract the .ba2 archive into your Fallout 76 directory’s Data folder (example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher\games\Fallout76\Data)
Go to Documents\My Games\Fallout 76 and create a new document in Notepad
Add “[Archive]”, hit Enter, and then under “[Archive]” add “sResourceArchive2List = SeventySix – ATX_Main.ba2, SeventySix – ATX_Textures.ba2, PumpShotgunAltSounds.ba2” (without quotes)
Save this document as “Fallout76Custom.ini”
Alternatively, there is a Fallout76Custom.ini file included in the Optional files section.
If there are sounds that you would prefer the vanilla versions for, you can open the .ba2 archive using Archive2 (or other programs, but Archive2 is the easiest) and delete the sounds you don’t want. The filenames make it very obvious which

Those with keen eyes may have noticed in the video that my receiver switched between the two comparisons. This is because I replaced the “improved” receiver mesh with the standard receiver mesh, because I greatly prefer how it looks. If anyone is interested, let me know in the comments and I’ll release it as a separate mod.
