Raider Radio

Overview
This mod is a work in progress and so far replaces 45 of the 59 audio files from the Classic Radio with 62 songs (explanation further down) from the 50s and early 60s. I did my best to keep them as raider-themed as possible, tho I’m limited by what’s available on archive.org and of course the themes of the times back then. Some songs are rather tongue-in-cheek, a few are actually a bit messed up, some are in there because they are whacky enough, and a minor number is just filler.

Known Issues and Limitations
The files that are not replaced yet are the very short (30sec up to 1:20min) and a few medium-length ones. All the stuff that lasts 4-11min has been replaced so if you stumble across some classical music it shouldn’t last too long (I haven’t so far while playing).

Unfortunately, it’s currently not possible to simply replace the existing songs with any other song without getting some annoying bugs. If the song is shorter than the one it’s replacing you end up with very long pauses. If it’s longer, the game will cut it off. So you have to find songs with similar lengths and in some cases, because the original song is 11min long, stuff multiple songs into one audio file and hope the combined time of them all is vaguely the same as the original. Since I’m limited by a theme here, it’s hard to find appropriate songs and songs that fit the timing on top of that, resulting in a few pauses of up to 25sec here and there. I’m hoping to fix that in the future.

I haven’t edited the songs themselves, yet, so some are rather quiet and a few are currently too loud for my taste. Also, since most of them are digitalized vinyl recordings, there can be some crackling, tho I haven’t noticed it in-game.
