Quieter Minigun Shredder
Reduces the bashing sound effects used by the minigun’s shredder muzzle by 10db or mutes them entirely.
I’ve been having a lot of fun lately using the shredder attachment on my minigun, but the frequency of the sound effect was killing my ears. I opened up the archives, located the two sound effects, and reduced them by 10db. I also made an optional version that mutes the sound effects entirely, just in case anyone would prefer that. I’ve also provided loose file versions if you want to add them to an existing archive or modify/replace them yourself.
Note that all heavy guns use these sound effects for bashing, so if you bash an enemy with your Flamer or your .50 cal, the hit sound will be either quieter or mute depending on which version you chose. There’s nothing I can do about this; I can’t tell the shredder attachment to use a different file, so it’s all or nothing. I’m not sure if this will affect other similar melee weapons like the ripper, Mr. Handy buzzblade or chainsaw. There are separate bash sound effects for middle-weight weapons like rifles and shotguns, and light weapons like handguns, and they may use those instead. If they do and you want me to modify those sounds as well, let me know.
Permissions: do whatever you want with these, all I did was modify the base files.
